Describe a typical day’s work for you?
I would love to say that it is all champagne, caviar and air kisses, but reality is that although I do dabble in the aforementioned pleasantries my job demands long hours, hard work and little play. I arrive early and leave in the dark, having spent the day writing press releases, brainstorming and working through current and future campaigns, replying to 5 billion emails, often left feeling like I need a cosmopolitan in hand at all times. Where’s a PA when you need one!

What are the perks of your job?
Firstly, product. Sometimes a girl just has to indulge and as the bulk of my clients are leading organic and natural skincare brands I officially have a beauty cabinet loaded with fabulous goodies in a space large enough to hold an intimate soiree. Then there’s the boss’ shout. For those who can’t reach me in the office (mainly on a Friday) call Prego and ask for the ladies on the outside tables (left in winter, right in summer). And lastly there’s the bare pr team. A real perk is getting to work with talented ladies who work damn hard but also know how to kick up their heels and do the splits with champagne in hand. Long story!

How did you get to where you are today?
Walked in the front door…it was open.

How similar is your life to that of Samantha Jones?
I’ve been told that I need to get out more and you won’t find plunging necklines or racy attire here, sorry lads. My life does have certain similarities and I’d like to think that like Samantha I am hot blooded, confident, have a bold personality and am not afraid to speak my mind. As for sex scandals the closet is bare as this girl has a hot lad waiting for her at home.

Describe a typical day’s work for you?
I arrive at work around 8.15 and head straight for the lunch room to make a hot milo!  I normally spend the first 20 minutes or so checking through my emails and sorting out what I need to do for the day.  Most of my day is then spent individually working away on various files, including trademark applications and disputes and some IT work.

I also run our work social committee with one of my colleagues so a small amount of my day is usually spent organising such this. I normally leave the office about 6-6.30pm, however that can vary depending on my work load.

What are the perks of your job?
The social aspect of our firm is great.  I have been lucky enough to go on a couple of boat trips with clients which are always good fun.  I also love our Friday night drinks which are a good chance to catch-up with your work colleagues when everyone is feeling relaxed.  I love the fact that working in a big firm you get to meet a lot of really nice people and make some really good friendships. Oh and I have the best view from my office which looks straight out over the Harbour to Rangitoto.

How did you get to where you are today?
I studied for 5 1/2 years at Waikato University, graduating with a LLB (first class honours) and a BMS majoring in marketing and accounting. At the end of my study I did a summer internship with my firm, and then took up a full time position with them when I finished my studies, and after having a quick seven month OE travelling around.

How similar is your life to that of Miranda?

Well I don't have a baby to start with so that makes my life a lot less complicated than hers!  But I guess have some of the same challenges as her given that in our profession you spend a lot of your time at work.  Therefore I need to make sure that I balance my friends and family with my work-life.  And like Miranda, I certainly enjoy spending my weekends or evenings catching up with friends for a drink and gossip!

Describe a typical day's work for you?

My job was incredibly varied, hence the non committal yet active sounding occupational title of "Manager." A typical day for me could involve event management, qualitative research and analysis, writing presentations, project management, making coffee, formatting fancy documents and meeting with artists. I worked with clients to help them find the perfect piece of art, and artists to make sure they were happy with their placement. It’s a lot of too-ing and fro-ing.

What are the perks of your job?
They say variety is the spice of life and running a gallery I certainly got that! I got to learn first hand in a small team environment from artists, clients, designers – the job itself was constantly evolving and full of meeting lots of interesting people. From a creative point of view the amount I learnt from those around me (being exposed to designers, artists and photographers) was probably the best bit of the entire job. And I have a lot more pieces of art in my house because of it!

How did you get to where you are today?
I have an eclectic background. I studied and worked in theatre design, ran my own shows, trained in visual communication design and have also worked in sales selling extremely expensive jewellery and this was just another step in my journey. When I was running my gallery it was a fantastic learning experience and chance to grow. Creative fields allow for a lot more movement between industry – for example now im working for a fantastic branding company and learning from the best I can!

How similar is your life to that of Charlotte?
Having worked in a gallery environment I have to say it's not as glamorous as everyone thinks… I mean the amount of bad, cheap wine I have drunken at exhibition openings makes me shudder. What is important to me though is a love of art and being in a creative environment, even in an administrative role. My life is probably nothing like Charlotte's but I believe it is still well worth making a series featuring me…

Describe a typical day’s work for you?
It’s fun, fast and full of work! I get to the office about 8.30ish and spend the day working on how we can make the site look as hot as we can – from brainstorming articles and working with Team Editorial to make these sound and look amazing, to working with Team AdSales on proposals, to attending events and launches that PR companies have put on and working on bigger picture strategy stuff – it’s always varied and never a dull moment!

What are the perks of your job?
Getting to do a job that engages me, working with a great team and I’m going to have to say it, getting to try new things before everyone else – including the fabulous new SEX AND THE CITY movie – thanks Roadshow!

How did you get to where you are today?

In a roundabout way! I worked my way into the office at nzgirl (by continuing to turn up for work experience) until I was a regular part of the team throughout Uni. I majored in PR at Uni and worked in the communications team for a magazine publisher – convincing me that my heart lay in magazines, but not in communications. Then I came back to nzgirl in the perfect role for me, editor of the best online magazine around!

How similar is your life to that of Carrie?

Unlike Carrie, I’m not a freelancer who waxes lyrical in her NY apartment -  rather I work within a large team environment of fabulous gals! I also do not by any means have the fantastic wardrobe or shoes (le sigh!) to rival Carrie, nor do I have the up and down relationship with Mr Big – instead I have a fantastic man and an up and down wardrobe depending on how much is on the floor of my room! However, I do get to ponder the meaning of life in a variety of creative outlets and this makes me happy and I use the inspiration of my friends to keep things fresh.

Feeling inspired? Even if you're not ready to launch into a new career, you and a friend could be winging your way to New York to celebrate the release of the fabulous movie, SEX AND THE CITY, thanks to the new FLING® chocolate bar! Click here to find out how...
