About You
The Eco Chic Holiday Guide

Just like you don’t have to sacrifice quality to have a natural skincare range, we show you that you can have an eco-friendly holiday, without losing out on comfort and style!

Looking after your skin and the environment should be pretty high on your list of priorities. But sometimes in the hectic blur that is your life, both can fall by the wayside.

If you’re after simple, holistic skincare that is super effective, then Aveeno is your perfect candidate. If you’re after an eco-friendly holiday that doesn’t hate on the environment, then read on for our ‘Eco Chic Holiday Guide’…

What to pack
We’re not asking you to wear hemp pjs (unless you want to!), but there are some great natural products that make an easy, eco friendly alternative to what you would normally reach for. Obviously we encourage you to incorporate these products into your daily regime, but what better place to trial something new, than on your upcoming Eco Chic Holiday!

Aveeno has been recommended by dermatologists and pediatricians in the US for many decades to protect and help relieve a range of dry skin conditions. Aveeno uses unique patented processes to retain the purity and strength of natural ingredients in the products.

If you want to ditch your usual harsh skin care products, then the affordable range of Aveeno products should be your first choice!

Good Water
Given that approximately, 14,000 tonnes of plastic bottles go to landfill each year, we think that a bottle of Good Water is the perfect addition to your Eco Chic Holiday. Good Water is certified organic and comes in NZ’s first ever Bio-Bottle, that looks just like an ordinary plastic water bottle, but isn’t!

The bottle is made from high starch vegetables instead of fossil fuel-based petrochemicals so it’s biodegradable, including the label!

Giovanni Organic Hair Care Products
Just like you, your hair needs a nutritional diet – that’s where Giovanni Hair Care Products come in. They’re made from a unique pure vegetable protein base to cleanse and condition naturally, meaning there’s no sticky feeling, no coating of your hair and no build-up.

What’s more the products have no animal testing, no animal by-products are biodegradable and used certified organic ingredients. Perfect!

Naturopharm Travelmed Relief
There’s nothing worse than having an exciting roadtrip or ferry ride hampered by motion-sickness. If you want a natural formulation that will ease the quease, try Travelmed Relief!

The natural ingredients work to quell feelings of queasiness and what’s more, there’s no drugs involved and it won’t make you drowsy!

Where to stay
Try out our recommendations for Eco Chic holidays that don’t require you to sacrifice on luxury or style. No longdrops or draughty huts in sight!

Eco Chic Hotel of Choice: Heritage Hotels
Staying in a luxury city hotel doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad news for the environment – especially if you choose to stay in one of the Heritage Hotels Green Globe certified sites. Heritage Hotels an NZ only chain of four star plus hotels, so they’ve got a special stake in keeping NZ clean and green. All of the Green Globe sites have introduced measures to reduce wastage in electricity (they’ve got a system that means you can’t lock your door and leave your light on), gas and water usage and also have a range of initiatives in recycling, regeneration and community out-reach. All without you even realising probably!

Check out our competition to win a night for two at the Heritage Hotel of your choice here.

Famous for its perfect balance of natural comfort and contemporary style, welcoming hospitality and creative and organic cuisine, Awaroa is also a winner in its stance on sustainability. The environment plays a big role in the Awaroa experience. The Lodge boasts a unique waste disposal system and organic garden, as well as a pest control programme to increase the native bird population of the area. The lodge is also making an effort to look after the surrounding wetlands.
