About You
I Get Paid To: Spice Up Your Sex Life

Name:
Romina Lilley
Age: 34
Employer: D.VICE
Position: Party Sales Agent for the past three years

Can you give us a brief job description?
As a D.VICE sales agent I sell sex toys through parties. My job consists mainly of going to into people’s homes and presenting a fantastic range of sex toys, predominately to groups of women. I give an hour long presentation and then invite the guests up to the display table to check out the toys. Once they have decided what they would like to purchase it’s into the private purchasing room. I set this up complete with stock, till and Eftpos and it’s there I often get to answer people’s more personal questions and advise them on the best product for them.

A lot of what I do is about educating and empowering people with quality information about sex with the aim of enhancing their sexual pleasure. For me it has been a great adventure and a learning road that I have truly enjoyed!

How did you get this job?
I remember having a D.VICE party at my house around eight years ago, when I was a young mum with a toddler and a baby (and so were all my friends that came to the party!), and we had such a good time that it made me think about joining the company. But it wasn’t until three years ago that I first applied, and after a two hour interview and a couple of days waiting I finally got the job!

What inspired you to get into this field?
I possibly chose to enter this industry because of my Latin American background (I was born and raised in Argentina), and my passion for sexuality.

I’ve been married for 12 years and for me it is very important to have a healthy and adventurous sex life, as it is the only moment when you can truly be intimate and share yourself with your partner. So what a better job for me that helping people to get there?

What is a typical week at work like for you?
There is no such thing as a typical week in my job, as every party is different, and you face different challenges, from the shy ladies, to the ones that want it all! The best thing about my job is that it is never dull, I get to meet lots of people and the satisfaction is always guaranteed!

What do you enjoy about your job most of all?
Promoting safe and healthy sexuality, good quality toys and allowing people to be adventurous. It’s amazing the things that you learn in the process, and how much your outlook changes. Now I know there are many ways we can please ourselves and our partners, and that’s something I’ll always treasure.

Best perks of the job?
Hmm… What do you think? All D.VICE staff get a fantastic staff discount and incentive vouchers to add to your own toy collection!

What personality traits/skills/attributes help a person get a job like yours?
The most important skills are an interest in sex and sexuality, knowing how to listen to each customer and advise them, a really extroverted personality and big muscles to carry all those suitcases! A passion for sex toys is a must and the ability to communicate and inspire a wide range of different people.

Most memorable moment of your job so far?
My most memorable moment was at one of my parties, where the host came after all the women had gone and told me that it was the best party she had ever had and that two of her guests told her that that night changed the way they thought about their sexuality, and that my presentation made them feel that sex was the most natural thing in the world. I really felt proud about that!

Any advice for NZ girls wanting to get into this field?
For all those ladies out there that would be interested in this kind of field, come with an open mind and be willing to learn all about your body and understand we are all different.
Being a D.VICE sales agent is interesting, fun and exciting. The great thing is knowing that what you do really changes peoples lives!

D.VICE is currently on the hunt for Sales agents to present parties on both Wellington and Auckland. For more detailed information click here
